Swamini Samatananda

Pujya Swamini Samatananda had the roots of philanthropic life early in her childhood as her family was an ardent follower of the Sringeri mutt. Right from her childhood she used to spend a greater part of her time in Satsang, bhajans and chanting. A chance meeting with Gurudev changed her entire course and the visit of Pujya Swami Brahmananda to her home town, Shimoga strengthened her desire to take up serious study of the scriptures. She underwent Sandeepany course under none other than Brahmaji himself and after obtaining deeksha has served in many centres in Karnataka conducting Jnana Yajnas and Satsangs. Her Balvihar and Devi Group classes are very popular. The centres at Tumkur, Mandya and Kolar owe a lot to her for their growth. Her discourses clearly reveal her deep study of the Advaita and Shankara bhashyas. She is a voracious reader and spends most of her time in the study of scriptures and commentaries of realised masters on the subject. Her perfect knowledge of the religious rites has made her the most wanted acharya for almost all functions of the mission. Her motherly attitude to all who go near her has rightly earned her the title “Annapoorne”. Right now she is serving the mission as acharya at Sripaadakshetra, J P Nagar, Bangalore which she is managing very well.
